In 2007 Mark moved to Bath and North East Somerset as a Senior Planner dealing with a number of complex major planning proposals within and outside of the city. Mark specialised in delivery of residential, commercial, hotels and care homes. Mark then moved on to manage planning and enforcement teams before being promoted to the role of Group Manager for Development Management, assuming responsibility for a team of over 50 individuals across planning, conservation, enforcement and registration departments. Mark input into all of the largest planning projects emerging within Bath before leaving to establish Context Planning Ltd.
Mark is a regular speaker delivering training on behalf of the RTPI and his team won a number of national planning awards for the speed, quality and professionalism of the services they offer. Mark has himself attended No.10 Downing Street to advise the Department for Communities and Local Government (as was) on how to increase the speed of decision making within planning departments.
Mark also has an excellent track record acting as a planning consultant. He has undertaken numerous projects ranging from householder developments up to major planning projects with a focus in the South West within Wiltshire, Mendip, Bristol and South Gloucestershire. He has also worked on projects in South Wales, Berkshire and London.
